D-Wines is a Portuguese company that came into being, to address the need of small and medium-sized wine producers and distributors to enter the more challenging foreign markets, with a sales’ person specialized in those markets.

The progressive growth of the wine sector in Portugal, and an increase in global wine production has helped to emphasize the importance of foreign markets for Portuguese wine producers.
Selling in international markets is a considerable challenge for medium-sized Portuguese wine producers:
– Their limited production capacity makes it difficult to have specialized sales’ teams specialized in different markets;
– On the other hand, the cost associated with going international are high which limits the quality of the sales team;

Managed operations for over 20 years. Coordinated full production, from the grape harvest to the sale of the wine.
As a specialist in wine exports, acted as export manager for global markets from 2008 – 2018 for the following companies:
- Encostas de Estremoz, Lda (vinhos);
- Olidal CRL (Azeite);
- Casal Branco Sociedade de Vinhos S.A. ;
- Sociedade Agrícola João T. M. Barbosa & Filhos, Lda. ;
Set up and implemented growth strategies for different markets, i.e. Canada, Brazil, China, Europe and the US.
Currently heads the D-Wines project with the objective of bringing the wine of small and medium-sized producers to the four corners of the world.
Regions
To avoid potential negative repercussions of competition among the producers that D-Wines works with, our portfolio is complementary, whereby we represent only one producer from each Portuguese region (Verdes - Douro – Dão – Bairrada – Alentejo – Tejo – Lisboa– Peninsula Setubal), as well as several distributors of international wines.

Markets
We offer our expertise in foreign markets, with a particular focus on the American markets (Brazil, US and Canada), as well as European markets. We work on a sharing basis with all the producers so avoid direct competition, and eliminate extraordinary commercial costs of each producer.
